About Us:
Faith Baptist is an actively developing church in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. After the COVID-19 pandemic our church sought to renew our vision and felt led to the importance of connection after that time of isolation. We want to help people deepen their connection to God, expand their connections to others within the church, and grow our community connections to help us better serve others.
At Faith Baptist you’ll find a small intergenerational congregation with a desire to welcome and love people no matter their background or path through life. Our worship services are relatively informal and draw on a mixture of musical styles. We adore the mess and noise that come with young children and have an active Sunday school program on Sunday mornings. We would love to talk with you and answer any other questions you have - just reach out by phone or email using the information below.
Staff:
Our Pastor is Rev. Borden Scott, who has served at Faith Baptist since 2009. He grew up in Lower Sackville, attending Sackville High School (class of 2002), Dalhousie University (Earth and Environmental Science) and Acadia Divinity College (Master of Divinity). Pastor Borden believes strongly in the importance of church community and value of careful and consistent Biblical teaching. He loves the challenge and opportunity of preaching and strongly values hospitality and service to others. Pastor Borden is married to Amy and they have three school-aged children.
Most recently (late 2025) Pastor Borden also became Captain (or Padre) Scott, now serving as a Primary Reserve Chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces. This allows him to connect with a whole new community that he has a heart for as he seeks to support military members on a limited-time basis. He is currently attached to the Bedford Armoury military police company and training centre.
Affiliations:
Faith Baptist is a member of the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada and the Halifax Region United Baptist Association. We are partners with Canadian Baptist Ministries and the Beacon House Interfaith Society (Food Bank and Shelter), and supporters of Bayside Camp, Acadia Divinity College, Crandall University, and the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.
